Welcome to the Lakers Baseball Page. From the time it was established as the Colchester High School All-Time Varsity Baseball Web Page back in 1997, I've been working to build a comprehensive website that tells as much as possible about the history of the varsity baseball program at Colchester High School. Due largely in part to former varsity head coach Dave Saddlemire, I have posted all of the available varsity baseball statistics and information from 1976 to the present.
The Yearly History pages contain the most important information on the website, as rosters, schedules and statistics for each season since the program attained varsity status in the spring of 1976 are contained therein. For the years between 1976 and 1996, the rosters, schedules and statistics were constructed based on information such as rosters and statistics in the team's scorebook each year, as well as information compiled by coach Saddlemire. Since 1997, I have kept up with the team's roster and schedule, including while serving as a varsity player and coach between 1999 and 2004. Each player who appeared in at least one game has been listed on the rosters and the all-time roster. Since 1997, I've tried to account for each player who dressed for at least one game, regardless of whether he played. In the schedules, I have omitted cancelled games. Thus, the 14- and 15-game regular-season schedules that the team has played over the years likely started out with additional scheduled contests. Unfortunately, there are some pieces of information from the rosters early in the program's history which are missing, such as uniform numbers or captains. I've done my best to make educated guesses on some uniform numbers, but many are still missing. There are also a couple numbers and captains from the late '80s that have gone unaccounted for. With your help, I can complete these rosters. In that vein, I'd like to thank the following people for their support and/or help at some point along the line:
If there are any comments, concerns or questions, I'd love to hear from people about this page. Much hard work has been put in to make it as comprehensive and complete as possible, and I want everybody - especially the ballplayers - to enjoy it as much as possible. |
